Warm Ham on a Cold March Easter

Costco ham for Easter dinner
Does this not look good enough to eat?  We recently joined Costco, in solidarity with all three daughters and with their urging. So we thought we would try a Kirkland ham for Easter. Marissa planned the menu and made some fancy scalloped potatoes flavored with an herbed boursin and other fattening things. The parmesan-crusted potatoes browned nicely alongside the glazed ham. Also delectable was a white layer cake with fresh strawberries and cream cheese frosting which Marissa assembled Easter morning. The spring diet re-starts in April. Meanwhile, life is good.

We used the included spice packet that added brown-sugary sweetness and cinnamony/clovy spice notes to the spiral ham. Just before eating I knocked over my empty wine glass and it shattered on the kale. The kale was purchased primarily for garnish, but it served to deflect the shattered glass--and was thrown in the trash soon after this photo was taken. I did not grieve that I was not able to enjoy the kale on Easter Monday. The ham was spared and we had plenty for shared leftovers.
