Today I decided to take a look at the source of the freakish flood of early Wednesday morning. I walked up the hill through the ice and sand on the sidewalk and followed the path of the flooding waters as they had rushed torrentially down the hill from here, through our yard and beyond.

Here is a look down the sinkhole street from the top of the hill by my street. There is only one house that is blocked by the hole. They had to drive their cars over their lawn to get out of their garage and around the sink hole. A worker said they hope to have things fixed by tomorrow.

If you think I am exaggerating, the press used the word deluge and quoted someone saying it was like a waterfall--I can't really picture that.
