| Teak bowl from thrift store--what is it?? |
Last month I spent a Saturday afternoon visiting a few thrift stores. One thing my daughter and I always have an eye "peeled" for is teak--her eyes primarily peeled for mid-century furniture, while I will look at anything teak. Teak things are no longer as readily available new, since Thailand placed restrictions on exports of teak.
I have a used teak recipe box, bread box, paper towel holder, napkin holder, cheese tray, serving tray, picture frames and a more recent (new) vase from Indonesia, shown below.
So I found some more interesting pieces. Here is another one:

Another disappointment was a bout with the stomach flu while staying beachside in Hua Hin. I remember throwing up down a sewer grate. The smells coming up from below were worse than what I was adding. The sewer odors in Thailand were the pits. They smelled worse than poop!
